Synopsis:

Review: (#1, C+) A throwback to the original poster design, this one highlights its two most important figures but does so without any sense of style. It might have been time to update the aesthetic a bit.

(#2, C+) A closer-up version of the prior that employs the same purple-green aesthetic while better highlighting the film’s stars. It will still only appeal to fans of the original but this might just solidify that support.

(#3, B-) A bit dizzying but that’s a good thing. The background images are copies, not originals, which is a missed opportunity, but it at least gives the sense of perspective of these characters. (#4-#7, C) Variations on existing designs, none of these format-specific efforts are more compelling than a regular design. (#8-#11, C) Apart from the first design looking more like Madea than Jamie Lee Curtis, the format for these character posters is too identical and only minimally fitting thematically.

Review: (#1, B-) To justify its existence, the filmmakers had to add some twists. These twists of differing body swaps are an interesting choice though they’ve been done before. There are a few cleverly funny moments that might draw in the original’s fans but I’m not seeing enough to speak to a younger generation and get them to the theater.

(#2, B) A few amusing moments that weren’t in the prior trailer with a little more information about the premise and you have a positive trendline that doesn’t need additional iteration to find its audience.
