Review: (#1, C+) With Priyanka Chopra Jonas standing in a rigid fashion with the two titular heads of state lounge on the car, the effort feels disjointed. That the car is barely visible and their individual positions don’t fit well next to it makes the whole thing feel even more ludicrously unreal than it should.

Review: (#1, B+) John Cena is one of the funniest ex-wrestlers working today. He can make even the most ludicrous of concepts seem interesting. Unlike Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista, he brings genuine charisma and buffoonery to his roles that are strangely affecting. Throw in skilled actor Idris Elba who seems well paired with Cena and you have a winning combination even if the oddball nature of the film’s concept would limits its credibility.
(#2, C+) The first trailer highlighted the action and the fun. There was no need to dive back into this well again and the result is as expected. A less funny, less compelling effort. What’s worse is they added the corny narration in an effort to get the film’s tongue into its cheek but the result is something clunky and ill-fitting that ultimately fails the film rather than supports it.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
