Review: (#1, C) A haphazard signature dominating the poster design is insufficiently compelling. Tessa Thompson’s smudged lipstick might hint at the film’s content but the black background feels out of place for the themes of the adaptation.

Review: (#1, C+) There is a subtle sultriness to the events of the trailer but its stakes and narrative are poorly conveyed. It’s a film that looks like it could have been fascinating but feels regimented and clunky.

Oscar Prospects:
