Review: (#1, C-) For fans of the original films, this design brings them back to their memories but does nothing to engender interest in younger horror fans. That vacant white background is oppressive.
(#2, B- & #3, C+) These two designs use the same concept, the killer standing over the potential victims. The latter uses the empty background too poor effect while the former has atmosphere and tension with the lighting and shadow looking more realistic.
(#4-#11, C-) A bland series of character posters that feature a lifeless white background, similarly positioned heads and a cheap shadow effect. At least they gave each a character-focused tagline.
Trailer Rating: C+ / C+

Review: (#1, C+) Returning to a trough that has long been abandoned, we return to a franchise that died as quickly as it became popular. This trailer tries to conjure up memories of the first film and present interesting scenes that entice the audience but the opening feeling too similar to Scream might turn off just as many potential viewers as it excites.
(#2, C+) Without much added information from the first film, you’d be forgiven if at first you thought this was another trailer for the latest Final Destination film. They have similar aesthetics but you eventually come to understand the difference. It doesn’t quite entice the viewer to check out the prior films but it at least does well enough in selling the potential for existing fans.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
