Review: (#1-#4, C) There just isn’t enough to any of these simple and agonizingly dull designs to be highlighted.

Trailer Rating: C / B-

Review: (#1, C) Purportedly a relationship dramedy with a stand-up comedic center lacks the two things it needs most: heart and humor. The routine is mediocre and the storyline seemingly non-existent. It’s one of those films that looks like it wants to draw on past films like The King of Comedy but without a sense of necessity or purpose.

(#2, B-) The humor’s a bit dry and the family drama is given a little more detail but the end result looks like something that’s challenging to enjoy with a inward-looking premise. Fans of the stars are probably still the only ones who will be interested in this film.

Oscar Prospects:

Bradley Cooper has to be considered a contender for any film he makes but the trailer looks pretty bland so it’s not certain he’ll earn the same acclaim for it.
