Poster Rating: D+

Review: Few things can kill a poster more quickly than Robin Williams’ smug mug. He’s a funny comedian, but his films have been increasingly more irritating and this poster just accentuates that. The poster does accurately depict the film’s subject, but it’s just too obvious.

Trailer Rating: C-

Review: John Krasinski is one of the only consistently funny members of The Office cast. This film looks like the absolutely wrong direction for him. It reminds me of when Matthew Perry made his continual forays to the big screen in relatively insipid comedies. Perry was similarly talented, but like him, Krasinski’s going to meet with big screen failure and remain a staple of television.

Oscar Prospects:

Perry’s film’s never made a dent at the box office or at the various year-end awards and he had Emmy nominations that Krasinski doesn’t. Robin Williams hasn’t pulled many of his comedies through to the Oscars in the last several years. His day as an Oscar contender appear to be far behind him.
