Review: (#1, C+) These three designs seem like character posters but aren’t. Each has some intriguing element that’s offset by the empty background, familiar black-white-red aesthetic, and only minimal artistic inventiveness.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: (#1, B) Reading a plot summation won’t prepare you for the trailer you’ll watch. It has a dark, gritty look that reminds the audience of Lady Gaga’s larger-than-life persona and riotous concert aesthetic but as the trailer progresses, things take a dark turn and set the viewer up for a film that looks to be a unique twist on the demonic possession storyline. Whether that’s the true turn of the film or just a diversion to make the picture look appealing won’t be known until a future trailer ruins the mystique or the viewer watches the film to confirm.

Oscar Prospects:

David Lowery’s films are popular with critics but not with the Academy. This supernatural horror film isn’t likely to make the awards.
