Review: (#1, C+) The generic backdrop and the poorly-fashioned edging make the effort look unnecessarily cheap. The foreground, which most people will notice before these other deficiencies will certainly appeal, especially to fans of the first film. (#2, C) Reminiscent of a design for the first film, the design has some charm to it but it looks so cheap that it’s hard to give it any credit.

(#3, C+) Utilizing typical action flair, this poster has enough action to generate some interest but feels otherwise inauthentic. (#4, C) Reflecting back to a design from the original film, this effort throws in the tropical elements that fit the theme but does nothing to create a sense of authenticity. (#5, C) Just the essentials, which doesn’t include pants. An interesting design sure but one that could have been better arranged, colored, and defined.

Review: (#1, B-) Unlike some sequels, this trailer does a solid job making its narrative seem interesting to non-fans. You might just be encouraged by this preview to seek out the original film and come to understand the sheer Lampooniness of the trailer’s aesthetic.
