Review: (#1, C) Tying into the rosy title, this poster and the suggestiveness of blood are striking but it will have limited appeal. (#2, C) While more interesting visually than the prior design, the modernism/period flare of the characters isn’t as noticeable while the evocation of eternity is at least pretty. (#3, C+) This seems to have less relevance to the film but at least there are interesting details for the viewer to watch through, though it might ultimately betray the film’s plot.

(#4, C) Perhaps it’s intended to entice fans of anime with its style and placement but this doesn’t create a sense of intrigue or compulsion.

Review: (#1, B) The visuals are beautiful and the concept has some merit but it takes so long to get to the moment where that plot is set up that it might throw the viewer off enough to make them disconcerted.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s one of the top contenders for the Best Animated Feature nomination and with its pedigree, it could well secure a slot.
