Review: (#1, C) Demonifying the shaman is a tacky effect since it’s not clear from the trailer that he is the villain, even if perceived to be. The black, white, and red palette is overused. (#2, C) This looks to be more in line with some of the elements of the film but the cold, vacant white space oppresses the overall design and makes it unappealing.

Review: (#1, C+) When building in a mystery to your horror trailer, try not to scapegoat a character and then “subtly” hint that he’s not the villain. It leads to confusion and a sense of ambiguity that isn’t terribly intriguing.
