Review: (#1, B-) There isn’t much to this design and the starry background doesn’t quite fit but it gets across its grim concept fairly well and could only have been improved if there were a hand gripping the axe.
(#2, C+) Simple and evocative, at least in the sense of horror narratives. Although it uses the red-white-black genre design motif, it’s striking enough to be interesting to the right demographic. (#3, C) This King of the Hill concept using Santas doesn’t make complete sense but it gets quickly to the point. (#4, B-) There’s a menace in the killer’s eye and with the design aesthetic being grainy and balanced, it works surprisingly well.

Review: (#1, C) Although it does say its a reimagining of the cult class horror film, what follows that admission doesn’t make the film look more interesting. It wants to say how shocking the first film was and thus this new film will be just as sensational, the accompanying images are anything but. The film looks cheaper than even its forebear and that’s the most alarming thing of all.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
