Review: (#1-#3, C+) Although these three posters are each unique, they share the same problems and the same creative sparks. All of them work to establish the dichotomy of the white girl and the Asian-American girl and the hint at body horror. That’s really the only good: how interesting the attempts are. The bad is the empty white background and the overwhelming yellow titling (in two designs) and the corny taglines (in two different designs). They are satisfying but underwhelming.

Review: (#1, C+) The trailer starts off early with the Mean Girls/The Substance comparison and that’s certainly what this feels like though several moments look designed to mimic the exact trajectory of The Substance even suggesting a similar prom-set finale. That makes it hard for fans of that film to find something appealing and although this feels more like Carrie meets The Substance it has enough sociopolitical discourse to be intriguing.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
