Poster Rating: C-

Review: Lots of color, lots of visuals, very little style. Looking like a throwback to the 1970s, this poster does little to evoke the true style of the genre and cutting the heads off the actors is both a good and a bad thing. First of all, we don’t get to see more than a mouth which allows astute individuals to pick the actors, but otherwise it eliminates a key marketing power those faces might generate.

Trailer Rating: B-; C

Review: The line between “teaser” and “trailer” is getting blurrier every day. This preview gives away much of the film, though little about its conclusion. It appears to be a lighter comedy than Pulp Fiction with a healthy dose of violence; If you could give away even more of a film, this trailer succeeds. Althought it presents much of the same information as the first preview, this one focuses less on who’s starring and more on what gets shot up or blown up.

Oscar Prospects:

This kind of hit man comedy never makes a mark with the Academy and the January release reassures us that it won’t be going near the Oscars.
