Review: (#1, B-) Taking the concept of period painting while manipulating it with soundwaves is rather interesting but won’t make it entirely enticing to a passer-by. (#2, C) A single scene from a film is a lazy poster-maker’s effort. (#3, C) Moderately extreme close-ups are rarely appealing in poster design and inverting them doesn’t make it better. (#4, C) Another still that doesn’t have a lot of thematic relevance, unless you’ve seen the trailer and even then it doesn’t quite make it inviting.

Review: (#1, B-) It is difficult to understand where the trailer is going and while there are some moments that engage the viewer’s excitement, the content around it makes for a rather slow watch and by the end, it’s nearly impossible for the audience to decide if it is even interested.

Oscar Prospects:

Submitted for Best International Feature by Germany, the film is shortlisted but has to compete with others for a handful of slots and the others have better chances.
