Review: (#1, C) Giving the sky more definition is not the way to generate poster enthusiasm. This is just a lackluster still from the film used to unappealing effect. (#2, C+) The attempt to copycat better designs is poorly executed. Too much empty space, cheap looking bullet-shattered glass affectations and a underwhelming blend of actors highlights something that the first trailer also did.

Trailer Rating: C- / C / C / C-

Review: (#1, C-) Student films have the level of polished cheapness. The trailer presents a story that doesn’t sound like a film worth watching, as if something like Martha Marcy May Marlene were made from the perspective of the cultists. (#2, C) This trailer does a better job getting that narrative across and doesn’t look as cheaply produced but it remains underwhelming in terms of its creative energy and necessity.

(#3, C) With minimal dialogue and a lot of scenes that play into the patriotic tune playing over the length, this design is interesting to an extent but provides insufficient detail to adequately explain the film or why viewers might be interested.

(#4, C-) Reverting to a teaser after three full trailers seems a poor choice but if the others lacked details about the plot, this glosses over them almost entirely. And that’s the impression despite it not being short or lacking in images. It just feels underwhelming.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
