Review: (#1, C) A simplistic design that might tie into the sultry nature of the character but does little to excite the audience and barely titillates. (#2, B) Although the empty background is frustrating, the silhouette concept is well executed with the film world versions of the characters fitting seamlessly together. The titling is well done for being so simplistic.

Trailer Rating: B+ / B

Review: (#1, B+) Perhaps its the desire to want this movie to be a success that makes the trailer so exciting. There’s plenty of music, so they aren’t hiding the fact that it’s a musical. There’s not enough information to fully explain the plot but it’s certainly gorgeous looking.

(#2, B) The gorgeous details of the film come through winningly in this trailer. It presents more fully the story being put forward though it does a poor job highlighting the stellar music or the compelling nature of some of the performances, over-editing everything.

Oscar Prospects:

Although the early reviews weren’t great, the film looks gorgeous and while it might not be a major Oscar contender, it will definitely be a craft contender.
