Review: (#1, C) Apart from the physical symbolism of Willem Dafoe in the lower half of the design, this lackluster design feels static and underwhelming with a strange, off-kilter balance of colors and titling.

Trailer Rating: C+ / C+

Review: (#1-#2, C+) The first trailer creates more tension than the second with its more detailed look at the horrors that may await viewers of the film. Meanwhile, the second trailer gets more into the narrative set up for the film with its sociopolitical elements. That any of this seems like an adequate adaptation of a popular novel doesn’t quite make it through to the viewer.

Oscar Prospects:

Willem Dafoe is in need of an Oscar but these horror films aren’t going to do it.
