Review: (#1, C) Too close up to get enough of an idea of what’s going on, this poster won’t have the desired effect of bringing in curious viewers. (#2, C) While a bit more compelling than the prior, the lighting doesn’t feel right. That could be an effort to suggest the divine or highlight the boys connection to light, it doesn’t have quite the appeal it needs. (#3, C+) The empty white background downgrades the poster’s charm but the rest of the image is striking and uses colors not traditionally seen in poster design and that helps it stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: (#1, C+) It’s hard to completely discern the film’s themes. There seems to be an element that questions religious certainty but there are more that try to build into its wonder. Where the film goes or what its intent is never quite makes it through.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
