Synopsis:

From IMDb: “On their way to their honeymoon, a couple’s vehicle breaks down, forcing them to take refuge in a remote Airbnb. As night falls, three masked strangers terrorize them until dawn.”

Review: (#1, B-) Although the knife reflection is a worn trope in poster design, it has survived for so long because of its effectiveness. It sufficiently distracts from the dullness of the background though the hand seems unnaturally turned.

(#2, C+) Without the context of the film or a familiarity with the prior effort (and its original productions), this doesn’t have the required creative input to make it generally appealing. The neon smiley face at least draws the viewer’s attention. (#3-#6, C) A quartet of uninspired posters that remind of prior designs for this series with the same lack of creative zest. (#7-#9, C+) These character posters are at least interesting with childlike figures looking into their horrific futures in the reflection of the water. (#10-#18, C+) The tagline is an interesting one, chosen to make these small town folks going about their daily lives seem suspicious. Beyond that, there’s really not much there.

Review: (#1, C+) If you haven’t seen the first film, does this trailer give something away? That’s for viewers to decide but unless you were already anticipating the second chapter of the story, it is unlikely this trailer will entice you.

(#2, B-) The first trailer may have set the tone but this trailer makes its continuation of the prior story feel necessary. Getting people to anticipate a sequel planned prior to its filming can be tricky, but fans of the original will be ready to turn out for the continuation at least.
