Review: (#1, C) Are the tears meant to indicate clawed tears? It’s not well explained and while the yellow background and hue to Benedict Cumberbatch’s face are infrequently used, it’s not a particularly compelling design. (#2, C+) The crow-like creature looming over Cumberbatch is a striking image but the rest of the design lacks creative energy. (#3, C-) It’s the first design with a different background and somehow it feels less interesting. Though, this might be the origin of the white tears on the yellow design, making that one feel like an improvement.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: (#1, C) While the trailer starts off telling the viewer that the film is based on a noted book, what follows doesn’t look anything like what might be engaging on the written page. The concept feels familiar, overly rooted in horror tropes, and featuring a noted actor not given enough material to shine.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
