Poster: B- / C / B- / C+ (3)

Review: The six designs available for The Two Faces of January all ignore the title and choose to highlight the film’s setting and dapper attire. The third design is a close-up version of the first design, which eliminates some of the more attractive details of the first. The second is less about location and more about positioning the actors in relation to their supposed thematic importance, which only makes it look worse. (#4-#6) The three individual character posters are a bit of a waste. While the men get unique poses, Kirsten Dunst’s is pulled right out of the second poster and doesn’t look as fascinating or appealing as the makers believe.

Trailer: B-

Review: Apart from the fact that the trailer seems to give almost every plot twist away, it never tries to play like some new-fangled creation. It employs old techniques and doesn’t seem ashamed of them. It makes the film look like it might be fun from a nostalga perspective.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
