Review: (#1, C) Will someone without familiarity with the trailer or the story catch the missing leg? The coloration of the backdrop makes it difficult to see the intact leg let alone the one that’s not there. The titling overlaps that making it even more difficult. I’ll give credit for tying the title coloration into the background and foreground details but they don’t do enough to overcome the lack of obviousness.
(#2, C) I’m not sure if highlighting the main character’s anger/pouting (it’s hard to tell which) is appropriate for this design. And if they are trying for either righteous indignation or grim determination, they have failed. Jennifer Lopez is featured mostly to appeal to her fans (though it hardly looks like her). It’s all rather tepid. (#3, C) A simplistic two-panel design with the determination in the up and the triumph in the lower failing to generate much in the way of audience investment. Will either of these selections entice a viewer? Not in the least.
Trailer Rating: B- / C

Review: (#1, B-) An inspiring story that is almost entirely given away in the trailer. Perhaps familiarity will breed attendance but giving away too much information about the plot will hurt the film’s chances of finding an audience.
(#2, C) Another faux inspirational sports drama is the vibe this trailer gives off. While it doesn’t have the engaging triumph over adversity element of the first trailer, it substitutes that with predictable and uninspired moments designed to engage the audience but the end result is something that looks hopelessly dull.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
