With the mediocre opening of A Working Man barely shaking out Snow White, A Minecraft Movie should have no problem topping the chart. Although I can’t think of any Minecraft fans who are excited to see the movie, it has some major names in the case and some might check it out for curiosity (or for their YouTube subscribers).

The Luckiest Man in America
Wesley Lovell: While the premise is interesting, Paul Walter-Hauser rubs me the wrong way and the trailer accentuates that dislike to me.
Pete Patrick: Looks like a poor man’s Quiz Show. I’d rather rewatch the original.
Thomas La Tourrette: It might be an okay movie, but parts of the trailer push boundaries in ways that does not make it look that interesting.
A Minecraft Movie
Wesley Lovell: While I have and sometimes do still play Minecraft, this movie looks really dumb.
Pete Patrick: Too juvenile looking for me.
Thomas La Tourrette: Perhaps if I had ever played the game it would make sense, but the movie looks pretty terrible.

The Limited Slate
Wesley Lovell: There are some releases with very solid potential, Hell of a Summer appealing the most to me.
Pete Patrick: Five maybes and one definite no with nothing really standing out.
Thomas La Tourrette: A Nice Indian Boy looks sweet though not deep. A few others might be worthwhile for performances (Eric LaRue and Psycho Therapy) or for epic scale (William Tell), though they are not screaming out to be seen.
