Three new wide releases and all of them have potential to top the box office. The Roses seems like the kind of film that could surprise with a top spot debut.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Almost Popular (Limited)
Leaving Mom (Limited)
Param Sundari (Limited)
Run (Limited)
Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
CAUGHT STEALING THE ROSES THE TOXIC AVENGER

Caught Stealing

Wesley Lovell: Darren Aronofsky is a filmmaker I usually enjoy watching so we’ll see if this is worth the effort.

Pete Patrick: Darren Aronofsky’s latest doesn’t look very appealing.

Thomas La Tourrette: I like Austin Butler and Matt Smith, but the trailer has lots going on but little that entices one to the theater.

The Roses

Wesley Lovell: Great actors and a fun premise could be a good match. Though the reviews are scathing.

Pete Patrick: I hated the original and this doesn’t look much better.

Thomas La Tourrette: I will see most anything that Olivia Colman does, but there seems to be a paucity of humor in the trailer.

The Toxic Avenger

Wesley Lovell: The original was never on my radar so I’m not that invested in a remake.

Pete Patrick: 2023 remake of 1984 film has Peter Dinklage and Jacob Tremlay leading the cast, but are they enough?

Thomas La Tourrette: Peter Dinklage is always fun and the early reviews are good, but it looks cheesy bad rather than fun.

LIMITED RELEASES
GRIFFIN IN SUMMER A LITTLE PRAYER LOVE, BROOKLYN MOTEL DESTINO STRANGER EYES

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Very little this week looks terribly interesting.

Pete Patrick: Coming of age comedy Griffin in Summer and family drama A Little Prayer look to be the best of an impressive group of limited releases.

Thomas La Tourrette: None look to be must sees, but perhaps A Little Prayer looks slightly more interesting than the rest, followed by Stranger Eyes.
