None of this week’s four releases is likely to outperform the top box office hit of last weekend, Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

WIDE RELEASES

BABYGIRL

A COMPLETE UNKNOWN

THE FIRE INSIDE

NOSFERATU

Babygirl

Wesley Lovell: Nothing about this film looks even remotely appealing and I wouldn’t watch it even if it’s the best performance of Kidman’s career.

Peter J. Patrick: The critics loved it but it has been curiously absent from most early ten-best lists.

Thomas La Tourrette: It sounds like Nicole Kidman gives a great performance in this.

A Complete Unknown

Wesley Lovell: It could be interesting but I’m not a fan of Bob Dylan’s work and seeing his life story holds no appeal for me.

Peter J. Patrick: I’m really looking forward to this take on early Bob Dylan.

Thomas La Tourrette: I’m looking forward to seeing Timothee Chalamet’s performance as Bob Dylan.

The Fire Inside

Wesley Lovell: This looks a bit too familiar

Peter J. Patrick: Inspirational sports movie about two-time Olympian female fighter Claressa “T-Rex” Shields is as topical as they get.

Thomas La Tourrette: The reviews are good, but we’ve seen this movie before.

Nosferatu

Wesley Lovell: There is some promise to this project but the previews and reviews haven’t been very favorable.

Peter J. Patrick: Good early reviews for a potential Oscar nominee have me interested.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks to be a suitably eerie production.

LIMITED RELEASES

2073

BETTER MAN

BLOODY AXE WOUND

HARBIN

VERMIGLIO

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Nothing really speaks to me but 2073 and Bloody Axe Wound could have some potential.

Peter J. Patrick: Italy’s ravishingly lovely looking Oscar entry is the cream of this crop.

Thomas La Tourrette: Vermiglio and the strange looking Better Man are the best of this week’s bunch.
