We’ve got our first potential mega blockbuster for the year, which will easily put everything else in the top ten to shame. It might even take in more than the next nine combined.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): This has been a consistently engaging set of films featuring Ant-Man, the Wasp, and now their daughter. Should be worth watching. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Liked the first one, was bored by the second one. This looks to be halfway between the two. Thomas LaTourette (TL): This has normally been a fun series, but most early reviews have found this sequel wanting. Pity, as I had been looking forward to it.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): In spite of how this was dumped into the early frame, I’m suspicious, but Liam Neeson seems a perfect fit for a neo noir thriller. Peter J. Patrick (PP): The production design is impressive, but 70-year-old Liam Neeson is too old to be an effective Philip Marlowe. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The sets, costumes and cinematography look like vintage film noir, but the fight scenes seem typical Liam Neeson. This could have been good, but I doubt it is.

Wesley Lovell (WL): The premise has promise, but the trailer is dull. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Intriguing political thriller with no name cast could be a hidden treasure. Thomas LaTourette (TL): It might be a decent thriller, but it just does not shine in the trailer.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): Emma Mackey has potential, but the film looks like a bore. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Let’s hope this version of the Bronte story fares better than Devotion, completed in 1943 but not released until 1946 when it flopped badly. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The critics like it but the ineffective trailer does little to entice one to see it.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): The trailer wasn’t very good, but the subject matter interests me. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Hard to gauge from the trailer but this Australian gay romance appears to be suffering from low energy. Thomas LaTourette (TL): I want to like this coming of age gay film, but the trailer seems more muddied than it should be.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): I’m not as curious about this film as I am about Cocaine Bear. Peter J. Patrick (PP): A.A. Milne must be turning in his grave over what these horrormeisters have done to his beloved Winnie the Pooh. Thomas LaTourette (TL): This just looks bad, really bad.
