The Coens face off against Regency Zombies in this week’s box office competition. While the Coens haven’t always been the biggest box office draws, their current film is a star-studded comedy that should barely top the re-telling of Pride and Prejudice with zombies. I guess I should probably give more credence to the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, but it looks so dreadful that even die hard fans of the genre will probably stay away.

Wesley Lovell (WL): This looks so amazingly bad. I can’t even conjure up the words to describe how awful it looks. |

Wesley Lovell (WL): Unless you’re a cineaste, you probably don’t know who Sergei Eisenstein is or care for that matter. Yet, even though I’m familiar with him and his work, I can’t summon up the interest in watching this. |

Wesley Lovell (WL): It will be interesting to see post-Potter Emma Watson doing some dramatic work, but the film doesn’t look that engaging. The only other thing that might get me into the theater is director Amenabar’s involvement. |

Wesley Lovell (WL): Normally, I don’t go in for these types of romantic comedies, but there’s a chemistry between Rebecca Hall and Jason Sudeikis that could help override that disinterest. |
