With an inauspicious set of debuts last weekend, this one should feature a new number one. Companion seems the most likely of the three new wide releases.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Detective Chinatown 1900 (Limited)
Deva (Limited)
Green and Gold (Limited)
Like Father, Like Son (Limited)
Majhail (Limited)
Marcello Mio (Limited)
The Martial Artist (Limited)
No Other Land (Limited)
Time Passages (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES

COMPANION

DOG MAN

VALIANT ONE

Companion

Wesley Lovell: Early word on this one is strong and the premise sounds interesting enough.

Peter J. Patrick: Looks like another dumb horror movie disguised as a comedy.

Thomas La Tourrette: I am not sure what to make of the trailer, but it might be an interesting movie.

Dog Man

Wesley Lovell: The animatino is awful and the premise laughable.

Peter J. Patrick: Sappy cartoon movie with no point.

Thomas La Tourrette: This looks like a terrible animated film. I expected more from DreamWorks.

Valiant One

Wesley Lovell: How this is getting a wide release is beyond me. It looks like it might do better on a video store shelf from 1996.

Peter J. Patrick: Pro-military film set in an unusual locale but with the same old cliches.

Thomas La Tourrette: It really looks like a pretty average war style film.

LIMITED RELEASES

CREATION OF THE GODS II: DEMON FORCE

LOVE ME

SUPERBOYS OF MALEGAON

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: None of these are that interesting to me.

Peter J. Patrick: Indian film, Superboys of Malegeon, appears to have merit but none of these are going to get me into a theater seat.

Thomas La Tourrette: Both Superboys and Love Me show some promise but I am dubious that they will be totally worthwhile.
