Ballerina will see if it can tap into the John Wick fandom and that might help it top Lilo & Stitch but even if it doesn’t, it will easily win out over the rest of this week’s wide and expanding releases.

Ballerina
Wesley Lovell: I haven’t found an enthusiasm for the John Wick films and this doesn’t improve my interest.
Pete Patrick: Strictly for John Wick fans.
Thomas La Tourrette: Ana de Armas deserves a leading role but this may not be it. I have seen none of the John Wick movies, so have little interest in this.
Dangerous Animals
Wesley Lovell: Although I might consider watching it for Jai Courtney, it looks like a standard issue shark movie.
Pete Patrick: Creepy horror movies are not my thing.
Thomas La Tourrette: This psychopathic shark feeding film just looks unpleasant.
The Ritual
Wesley Lovell: Possession films aren’t enjoyable to me.
Pete Patrick: Al Pacino and Dan Stevens may raise this routine horror film to a higher level but I’m not convinced.
Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a mediocre exorcism movie and there are plenty of better ones out there.

The Limited Slate
Wesley Lovell: Two definite notes, two maybes. “I Don’t Understand You” looks like campy fun but not good campy fun while “The Life of Chuck” has pedigree but it doesn’t look that good to me.
Pete Patrick: Festival hit The Life of Chuck is the only yes here.
Thomas La Tourrette: On paper, The Life of Chuck looks the best as it won the People’s Choice award from the Toronto film festival, but a dull trailer does nothing to sell the movie. I Don’t Understand You might prove fun or perhaps cringe worthy. Not sure which it will be.
