Although Thunderbolts* didn’t top $100 million like a lot of Marvel movies do, it will have a strong second weekend against this set of new releases, none of which seems like the kind of films to top the box office. Most (except maybe Clown in a Cornfield and Fight or Flight are likely to even crack the top 5.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Abir Gulaal (Limited)
Caught by the Tides (Limited)
The Lightning Code (Limited)
Lilly (Limited)
Marcella (Limited)
Money Kisses (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD FIGHT OR FLIGHT JULIET & ROMEO SHADOW FORCE

Clown in a Cornfield

Wesley Lovell: I like inventive horror films with monolithic killing machines. It might be fun but it also looks a bit derivative.

Pete Patrick: This week’s low grade horror film.

Thomas La Tourrette: It has some decent early reviews but it is not my type of film.

Fight or Flight

Wesley Lovell: My interest in this is rooted largely in my interest in Bullet Train as they have similar concepts. It’s probably a loose interest, though.

Pete Patrick: This week’s low grade action film.

Thomas La Tourrette: Bullet Train was fun, and this looks like a variation on that theme. I will not be running out to see it, but might catch it later when it is streaming.

Juliet & Romeo

Wesley Lovell: A good musical would be nice but this looks a bit uninspired to me.

Pete Patrick: Amateurish take on Shakespeare’s classic.

Thomas La Tourrette: Cyrano did a nice job of turning an old play into a musical, so perhaps this can succeed too.

Shadow Force

Wesley Lovell: We’ve seen far too many of these types of films to be excited about another one even though the cast is appealing.

Pete Patrick: Another low grade actioner.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks very derivative of many thrillers about spies trying to leave their old life.

LIMITED RELEASES
FRIENDSHIP HENRY JOHNSON SEW TORN SHARP CORNER STAND YOUR GROUND

WATCH THE SKIES

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Some potentially intriguing new experiences this week.

Pete Patrick: All these films look as uninspiring as their titles.

Thomas La Tourrette: Sew Torn, Sharp Corner and Watch the Skies look to be the best of the bunch. I am not sure of any of them, but at least they hold possibilities.
