Personally, I would love to see an out-of-nowhere nod for something like Shutter Island or a film like Easy A or Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. But I know that none of those are likely to occur.
Shutter Island is another one who would deserve it, I forgot about that. I could be nominated for Best Film, Art Direction and editing. But it’s release is too old (from february), as Ghost Writer’s. They know that they didn’t release it in oscar time jeje
Bu as much as I loved Toy Story 3, and cried in the amazingly sentimental ending, I don’t think it deserves to be nominated for best movie. It’s a film mostly for fans of the series, people who saw it and never saw the originals didn’t think it was that good as how to train your dragon or tangled.
And The Town, is very well made and acted, but has its flaws, it’s a bit long and the female protagonist is the weakest character.
The other 8 movies deserve to be there, its a good list, with many different styles of filmaking.
I think the last 2 should be “Winter’s Bone” (i’m pretty sure it will get nominated), and I would really like “The Way Back” in there or The Ghost Writer (which has almost no posibility, but its a great serious thrilles). Or maybe Blue Valentine, if it manages to get nominations for actor and actress.
