Introductions

Wesley Lovell: Added three films to the roster this month, Animals, The Uprising, and Wicker (none of which are nominated in the categories below). Other than that, there aren’t any major changes to the current prediction set.
Pete Patrick: Things are still in flux with no real certainties likely until after the fall festivals.
Thomas LaTourette: I did not make as many changes to this list as I first expected, with some categories completely unchanged. The Odyssey proved to be a very good movie, a box office success and looks poised to be the most nominated film of the year. John Leguizamo and Samantha Morton both might get nominations for it which I had not expected before this month. Andrew Scott suddenly jumped into the conversation for his role in Elsinore. I know little about La Bola Negra or Wild Horse Nine, but they look likely to do well. Behemoth!, The Debut, and Digger also look poised to snag several nominations. Digger is the only one of those that I have seen a trailer for so far, and it looked odd rather than compelling, but we will find out more as we get into the fall season.
