Every week, we’ll pose a new “five favorites” question. You just list your five favorites that fit in that category (preferably in preference order) and you’re welcome to discuss and debate the selections and see just how much you do or do not have in common with others. If you want to take a look back at our past articles to comment or enjoy, here is a post set aside to track all of our articles.
Doesn’t seem like there were a lot of popular Easter films last week, so let’s get back to individuals’ lists and spread the love to the directors.
I must say that I really don’t enjoy Bergman’s films, while acknowledging his importance to cinema. I’ve rarely seen any of his films more than once, the latest exception being Cries and Whispers (a couple of weeks ago for my 1973 Academy Year review).
1. Wild Strawberries
2. Cries and Whispers
3. Fanny and Alexander
4. Smiles of a Summer Night
5. The Seventh Seal

One of my favorite directors. It’s hard to argue with Peter’s choices.

Regarding Easter films, there haven’t really been a lot. I was the only one who responded and I couldn’t come up with five I would consider “favorites”.
We should have better particpation next week if and when you ask for favorite screen mothers in honor of Mother’s Day.
