They are all the rage right now and it doesn’t seem like something that will fade soon, but have the best already passed us by? Who knows for sure, but at least right now, we can answer the question about the best adaptations.
I’m surprised you liked Sin City, Mike. I thought it was awful.
I’d put them here:
1. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
2. X-Men: First Class
3. The Dark Knight
4. V for Vendetta
5. X2: X-Men United
I’m not sure if I should include Scott Pilgrim or V for Vendetta since they are graphic novels, not comic book series per se. If so, move everything up and put The Avengers in fourth Batman Begins in fifth.
I had no idea A History of Violence and Road to Perdition had comic book or graphic novel roots. Strictly speaking, I felt Sin City and Dick Tracy were closest to the feel of comic books on screen. I loved Sin City. The graphics were phenomenal
Batman Returns (I love Burton´s style)
Superman ( the old one of coure)
The Adventures of TinTin (I´ve read the comics as a child and the film is as charming)
The Dark Knight (I guess the best so far)

Likewise, I considered just about all the titles you have mentioned. To be honest, I have only read Batman comics from my list. The titles were selected based solely on the movies themselves. Back when I read comics (over 50 years ago), Superman, Batman, Flash and Aquaman were the comics of choice – and, of course, Mad Magazine.
