The nominations have been announced. The late support for Nightcrawler evaporated with the film picking up only one nomination. Foxcatcher proves that you should never count out Bennett Miller. Selma made it in by the seat of its pants, but did so with only two nominations. The Imitation Game, Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel are the nominations leaders with eight, nine and nine respectively. Looking at the nominations, the only films that could win Best Picture by tradition (Director, Editing, Writing and Acting) are Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Imitation Game.
