The second weekend of Michael should take the top spot again. Of the rest, The Devil Wears Prada 2 may have the best shot at the best of the new releases.

American Agitators (Limited)
Casa Grande: The Movie (Limited)
Departures (Limited)
Dhabkaaro (Limited)
RZA’s One Spoon of Chocolate (Limited)
Sirens Call (Limited)
The Story of Everything (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
ANIMAL FARM DEEP WATER THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 HOKUM

Animal Farm

Wesley Lovell: This book doesn’t seem like it will have the right handling in this studio’s hands.

Pete Patrick: An updated version of Orwell’s satirical allegory may be dumbed down but it’s still potent material.

Thomas La Tourrette: Making this a kiddie version wipes out most of the power of the George Orwell novel. It looks like a total misfire.

Deep Water

Wesley Lovell: It looks like a corny action flick but one that might actually be fun.

Pete Patrick: I can do without another Renny Harlin film.

Thomas La Tourrette: Might be a decent popcorn flick but nothing more.

The Devil Wears Prada 2

Wesley Lovell: The first film was fun but who knows if they can recapture that glory.

Pete Patrick: Overdue sequel to the 2006 original should b fun.

Thomas La Tourrette: I imagine I will see this as the first movie was fun, but the trailers do not make a case for the sequel.

Hokum

Wesley Lovell: This looks like it’s title’s meaning.

Pete Patrick: Another week, another disposable horror film

Thomas La Tourrette: The reviews are surprisingly good, but I am not much into horror films and the trailer does not entice further viewing.

LIMITED RELEASES
SWAPPED TWO PIANOS

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Two Pianos might be intriguing but the other does not.

Pete Patrick: Two Pianos looks intriguing but Netflix’s Swapped seems more a curiosity than a must-see.

Thomas La Tourrette: Swapped looks like a lame animated film. Not sure what Two Pianos is going for, but the trailer did not create much interest in the movie.
