Poster Rating: C / C+

Review: (#1, C) A field of wild wheat and two figures who blend into the setting with little to no color. It relies too heavily on its title to create interest. (#2, C+) This effort has a little more effort and a little more color but still feels rather dull. Meanwhile the motion effect on the figures is muddled by the more distinct facial elements that make it look like some tepid tampering has been done.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: (#1, C+) If the in-your-face style of Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights didn’t do it for you, this more subdued neophyte director-helmed rendition of Jane Austen’s seminal novel might be up your alley. Unfortunately, the trailer is light on repressed sexuality and romantic emotionalism. That might not bolster its popularity.

Oscar Prospects:

The material has been nominated before but with an untested director, who knows for sure. It could still be or it might be ignored.
