After 10 long months, the Academy Awards are over and we’ve got a winner. First, let me thank everyone who participated, even those who didn’t get into the game until the final month. Your participation made for an interesting exploration of how this contest could work.
Next year, we’ll probably do things a bit differently, but for now, let’s take a look at the winner:
Our Big Winner Is:
Thomas LaTourrette – 16,150 points
Thomas started at our August posting and kept at it right until the end, which enabled him to win out over those who participated and then forgot to submit later in the event or those who got started late. Perseverance is indeed rewarded.
Other Results:
Bird – 12,000 points
He started at our very first post back in June, but didn’t come back to submit his selections. His early predictions were admirably good and could have been our winner had he stuck it out.
Tom Swanner – 7,600 points
Started in October, but didn’t update his predictions after that.
Criddic – 7,150 points
Another late comer, Criddic submitted his first list in December, but did not return.
Trish Mistric – 500 points
Trish was one of three participants who came too late in the game, posting for the first time in February and losing out on all the points those prediction nominations had gotten.
John Huerta- 600 points
Matthew J. Carr – 400 points
Thomas, being our winner, will be joining us starting in May if he so chooses. He can contact me via e-mail to get things set up.
Thanks again to everyone who participated and especially our winner. We’ll see you again next year.
