Review: (#1, C) This rather tepid poster design might fit in somewhat well with the trailer that has released but it’s not a design that makes you want to see the film, its sparseness might draw the eye but without context it might not retain it.
(#2-#3, B-) This pair of teaser posters take the oblong and disjointed concept stand out with minimal design effort. There may be a measure of empty space but that is part of what makes it fit with the narrative.
Trailer Rating: B- / B+

Review: (#1, B-) Trailers that create intrigue without explaining anything are a mixed bag and sometimes, the concept doesn’t come through very well but is mystifying enough to generate interest. This is a trailer that does as it pans down through several floors of increasing oddity and with the yellow hues making everything look slightly unnatural, it adds surprisingly well into a trailer that says almost nothing.
(#2, B+) The first trailer is an interesting effort as it eschews a lot of traditional teaser dynamics and still creates interest in the viewer. This trailer delves more into the plot elements, giving the audience an understanding of the strange nature of the film itself. My initial take is that it’s a cross between Being John Malkovich and Stanley Kubrick all by way of the book House of Leaves.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
