Review: (#1, B-) This goddess design has a lot of interesting detail and employs the yellow, orange, and black color scheme quite well.

(#2, C+) A poorly-stacked design that features the details one might find interesting but without the pleasing arrangement that would make it feel less haphazardly constructed.

(#3, C+) While the image is asymmetrical, its balance is symmetrical which makes it feel a bit off. Some nice images and colors mixed in but it also strangely seems vacant. (#4, C) The asymmetry is nice but the lack of details with vast empty segments is frustrating. (#5, C) Poorly combined images that seem action oriented but also feel inert. (#6, C+) While it isn’t precisely an image from the film, it looks that way and while there are some small background details, it’s also unnecessarily empty. (#7, C+) Thematically, the weld is meant to interlock these characters but the end result feels disconnected while trying to feel connected.

Trailer Rating: B+ / B / C

Review: (#1, B+) There aren’t a lot of details presented in the trailer, but what’s there not only connects it to the prior film, but generates just enough excitement to build towards an upcoming second trailer that might drive everything home.

(#2, B) Lots of action and plot on display here and if you’re a fan of the prior film in the series, this trailer should help bolster your interest in it. Non-fans might be intrigued by the imagery to check it out but they might also be turned off by the oppressive yellows and oranges that dominate the trailer.

(#3, C) There comes a point where you make more trailers than is advisable and your content looks tedious and lacking in direction. This trailer goes in precisely that direction making a major action franchise film feel formulaic and not terribly humorous.

Oscar Prospects:

The prior film was a major Oscar contender and this one could be as well, though the law of diminishing returns could decrease its overall haul of nominations and awards.
