Poster Rating: C-; B-

Review: Hoopefully something in the film has to do with cherries because otherwise, this poster is entirely worthless.

The cherries have been dialed back a notch and it certainly aides this second poster. The smiley-face trampoline and the seemingly excited jumper effectively match the tone of the film, its star and the title. However, it still doesn’t scream “watch me” as it needs to.

Trailer Rating: A-

Review: Mike Leigh has done some amazing things and you think at first that Manohla Dargis’ statement about being genuinely happy after seeing the film seems impossible, but as the trailer goes on, there’s something infectious in the lead actress that makes it seem entirely amusing.

Oscar Prospects:

Will the Academy choose Sally Hawkins to reward as this year’s breakthrough star? Who knows for sure, but it would be delightful to see.
