Review: (#1, C+) Although the casques (the head fins) look more like cassowaries, these prehistoric ostriches likely play an important role in the film and while it ties back a little to the first film, the presence of the core quartet will confirm who it’s about without having the need of resorting to those affectations.

Trailer Rating: B / B-

Review: (#1, B) Trying to figure out where this series was heading next, it was clear that three of the stars were going to make it work but the surprise is that for once The Rock is doing something new and creative with his performance that belies what all he’s done prior. It might still seem a bit wooden in the film but the split dynamic of character concepts he conveys in the trailer suggest something much more enticing than expected.

(#2, B-) Filled with action and plot detail, this trailer does a solid job selling the film but might be too chaotic and unfocused on its comedy to be appealing. Fans will show up but I don’t see this changing the calculus in terms of attendance.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
