Review: There is nothing here that will make children excited. It’s a dull effort that puts the character front and center, but without it being appealing and there not being enough to engage a young mind for very long, it’s almost a wasted effort.

Trailer Rating: C / B

Review: (#1) This trailer establishes the premise so basically that it feels rather cheap and unexplored. Perhaps it’s a teaser, but there’s not enough here to reach out to fans beyond those of Adam Sandler whose voice is hard to recognize at first but quite obvious after awhile.

(#2) I’m not an Adam Sandler fan and his voice still grates on my nerves; however, the trailer itself is delightful, giving us plenty of information about the film’s plot. It makes the idea of an aging iguana teaching kids life lessons to help them grow and expand beyond simple education standards is such a compelling idea that even Sandler’s presence doesn’t quite dull this for me. For those who love Sandler, it will be the icing on the cake.

Oscar Prospects:

Adam Sandler’s animated features don’t do well with the Academy even in the Animated Feature category.
