Review: (#1) This extreme close-up of Penélope Cruz doesn’t add anything to the design is ultimately off-putting as it tells the viewer nothing about the film itself. The childishness of the title lettering doesn’t add anything of importance.

(#2) If there’s a thematic reason for this design, it’s not obvious, which makes it tough to use as a sales tool as viewers want to get something out of the design they are looking at, especially for a film that has minimal potential impact from its content.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: A period trans drama will struggle to convey its time-appropriate relevance with a trailer like this making the case for it feeling out of time and place. It still feels necessary, but doesn’t quite sell itself.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
