Review: (#1, C) Using an iconic scene from the original animated film is fitting though underwhelming. It’s only a teaser, thankfully.

(#2, C+) For those who are already enticed or who are Dwayne Johnson fans, this might be all they need to purchase a ticket but with as much money as Disney can put into promotional materials, the end result is mightily limited with the background notably empty.

Review: (#1, B-) One of the biggest problems with How to Train Your Dragon, the live-action version, was that the trailer felt that re-presenting scenes from the original film with live actors was a selling point. Whereas this trailer gives us snippets and tidbits to entice the audience and fans of the original may be drawn in just because it looks a little bit different.

(#2, C) Now that we’re seeing more of the film, it becomes obvious that this is yet another live-action adaptation that shouldn’t be. It looks derivative and poorly acted with the real life Dwayne Johnson looking less impressive than the character he voiced in the original animated movie.
