Review: (#1, B-) Although it requires some familiarity with the source material or the trailer, this ’70s inspired rainbow-hued design is visually striking and can impress upon the audience something spectacular without actually being such.

Trailer Rating: A

Review: (#1, A) A kaleidoscopic adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s immortal Chronicles of Narnia chooses to start at the temporal beginning rather than the positional release window of each novel. Looking at a post-World War II environment where kids had to grow up too fast, it’s very easy to pick up on the film’s themes and allegories more effectively in a single trailer than would be conceivably possible based on the other trailers that have released over the years. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that director Greta Gerwig had a lot of influence on how this first trailer was produced and the content it provided as it feels as thematically relevant as the early trailers for her prior success, Barbie.

Oscar Prospects:

If this film is anywhere near the quality of Barbie and as big a box office hit, it’s sure to be a major Oscar contender.
