Review: (#1, C) A righteous man astride a horse. It has a nice statuesque quality but is overly simplified. At least the background is given some measure of density with its smoky lighting. (#2, C+) Using the same color scheme as the prior design but fitting in a regional background makes for a more generally appealing design. Still, unless you’re a fan of the Peaky Blinders series, this poster isn’t going to hold much appeal.

Review: (#1, B) If you haven’t seen the TV series, you might be going into this at a disadvantage but the effort is there to make this stand alone at the end of a vaunted series’ production. There are a few parallels here that make it relative in a modern context but there’s also the worry that the audience will be missing some of the background without catching the show first.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s always possible a big screen adaptation of a TV series gets Oscar consideration, especially a series well acclaimed. That said, most of the TV adaptations haven’t been good and none of them have recently gotten nominated.
