Review: (#1, C+) It may have something of an 1980s vibe to it, the splattery nature is something that wouldn’t have flown in those earlier poster designs and doesn’t work terribly well today with almost nothing to look at in the background. (#2, B) The only established structure of poster design works for a reason and this is a solid effort with lots of characters filling out the design but not enough uniqueness or creativity in their positioning. The color scheme is also off-putting with an attempt to blend two different disparate styles, the red-black of horror contrasting poorly with the blue-yellow scheme.
(#3, C) The bloody fingerprints and splotches don’t add much depth to a design that’s muted and washed out with the reds and purples blending together into a poorly melded mess. (#4, C) This cheesy design for an alcoholic beverage available at Regal cinemas is a better advertisement for the drink than the movie. (#5, C-) There’s a point at which the overuse of red makes things difficult to view, blinding the passer-by with details that aren’t interesting, relying on dull red-black design tropes. (#6, B-) Splaying out the characters like this is interesting as it invites the viewer to spend a little more time looking at it all but then pairs that with an underwhelming background. (#7, B) Stacking the characters vertically does use space more effectively and the goat background is a unique element we haven’t seen in this film series yet but the red colors are dull and blend too well together that it makes the individual characters in the background indistinct. (#8, C) The alternate French title is jarring for the viewer but the shift to blue tones makes this visually distinct from the remaining and better speaks to the film’s premise.
Trailer Rating: C+ / B-

Review: (#1, C+) You probably don’t need a trailer for a film with a cult fanbase who will undoubtedly turn out regardless. The narrative is given a few more twists and turns but looks like much of the same with pretty dull humor and limitedly original situations.
(#2, B-) Expanding only slightly on the premise presented in the first trailer, this focuses on putting a touch of humor into the proceedings but never quite elevates the material beyond a cue for only original fans to get in line to see it.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
