Review: (#1, B-) This first design features all of the characters in what could have been an epic layout but they are all so small compared to the rest of the image, it’s a bit disappointing. There are enough details to draw the eye for a short time but it won’t remain a viable sales tool. (#2-#6, C+) Taking the same background and swapping out the full cast for individual characters doesn’t make for a good batch of character posters with zero genuine differences.
(#7, B+) This is the iconic poster design one would expect from this series. The ageless battle of eagle and snake, the attempt to break up a love affair. It’s all compellingly laid out in this effort. (#8, C) A bland design with the red-white-and-blue lettering contrasting sharply with the golden logo. (#9, B) Although it plays into an element of speed that doesn’t quite fit in with the aesthetic of the film, it’s a strong design with details filling valuable space and a simple premise. It might convince the unfamiliar to give it a chance. (#10-#12, C+) These two designs share a similar concept with different color schemes and neither stand out well enough to be compelling. (#13, C+) Wrapping things up with another fast-and-furious reference that fits poorly with the film’s roots.

Review: (#1, C) The first film was hilarious but I remember very little about it. This movie looks about as dumb as it can be without feeling like a movie that carries the spirit of the first film with it. This announcement of a new film might be enough to pull super fans of the first and second films into theaters but it’s not going to generate much interest outside of that group.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
