Review: (#1, B-) Reminiscent of the original Exorcist poster, this design creates a visual space that projects certain thematic elements while also referencing one of the film’s settings. Whether this encourages viewership or not is the bigger question.

Review: (#1, B) Previous attempts to resuscitate the Exorcist franchise have overly focused on the religious/possession horror angle and have felt extremely derivative. Although the trailer’s final moment is reminiscent of that, the rest of the trailer feels like a fresh interpretation of the concept of exorcisms as related to serial killer procedurals. An interesting angle and audiences may well respond to that.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
